The Civil War in Russia (1918-1920):
After the Bolsheviks came to power following the October Revolution, their policies, such as land redistribution, led to a breakdown in the Russian army, as soldiers (mostly peasants) deserted to return home for the redistribution of land. The Bolsheviks faced opposition from several groups, leading to a civil war between 1918 and 1920.
